John’s Place - Whau Valley | Whangārei

John’s Place is a two bedroom home in Whau Valley is strategically situated in central Whangārei so you can enjoy the many local attractions and if you are riding through Northland, it’s simply seconds off State Highway 1 in Whangārei.  It’s ideal to stay for a couple of days and to use as a base especially if you are travelling solo and want a comfortable and relaxed place to stay and reflect on your day’s ride.  Cape Reinga is an easy day ride from this well located home, leave early in the morning and you can return back the same day.  

John offers this accommodation as “room available” in his home where you have access to his full kitchen, lounge and shared bathroom.  The master room can be made available upon request if you are riding with another couple or person and you both want your own room.

The lounge has a comfortable couch bed which can be converted to a double bed.

The deck is a great place to relax and cook your evening meal on the barbeque.  There is a block of shops (bakery, dairy, laundromat, restaurant) within 100ms.

Costs: $80 per rider per night - $150 per couple

MEET YOUR HOST

John

John is not a motorcyclist himself, though his father was and his passion is cycling so he fully understands the need to travel light and to have a great night’s sleep before a big ride.  He also has lots of friends who are motorcyclists so he is well versed with what riders need at his place.  Not only does he have plenty of off-street parking, he also has a lock up garage.

As indicated by his email address, John is an avid fisherman so during your stay you may be treated to a feed of our Northland snapper.  He provides everything that you need when riding or travelling light. It’s also a great place to stay if you are working in and around Whangārei. Very close to the Kensington sports stadium (walking distance) and 500m off State Highway 1 going north through Whangārei.
